This site is a personal exercise in observing the world through a longer form of writing than social media, in all of its fleeting attention spans and public displays of popularity will allow.
As a practicing Jyotisha since 2017, with my mahadasha lord Ketu in my 9th, and with my ruler of 3rd in 11th, I use this platform as an observational exercise in studying transits. I enjoy writing even if I’m not very good at it, so this is also a way for me to hold myself accountable to writing and studying outside of my full time job.
I have had two Jyotish teachers, one was a rogue non-Indian man aspiring to be a tantrik priest who lived for over a decade on the banks of the Ganges in Varanasi and who dined regularly with Mark Dyczkowski. It was an excellent training during my Mercury-Jupiter antardasha, filled with endless discussions on Jyotish and Kashmiri Shaivism.
The other was the wonderful Mrs. Barbara Pijan-Lama, Jyotisha extraordinaire, who I was deeply fortunate enough to have corresponded with for about a year and who was very generous in speaking with me.
In addition to those two teachers are all of the authors of the great Vedic canons, as well as several contemporary writers, all of the well-known ones with published books in English. I also have been blessed with a fortuitous friendship with a young man from Florida on Twitter, who is exceptionally well versed in many source texts (Jupiter/Rahu in Pisces 11H), and who has generously shared a wealth of knowledge with so many on that platform. I learned a great deal from him and am indebted to his online friendship.
I have a degree in Philosophy and Literature, and I have a top position in Government.
Endlessly indebted to the spirit of the teachings.
